MXSTEN® Plastomers
MXSTEN® plastomers are the lowest density hexene based LLDPE in the world. Westlake’s ENERGX® technology consulting services in the fields of licensing and polymer processing and patented process allow us to create hexene based polymers in densities as low as 0.906 g/cm3. MXSTEN’S exhibit exceptionally balanced MD and TD properties along with superior low temperature dart strength properties. MXSTEN’s have excellent seal strength at low initiation temperatures which allows processors to run faster line speeds on their form, fill, and seal machines. For such a low density polymer, the MXSTEN’s have unique stiffness properties which makes it an ideal choice for stand-up and thermoformed pouches. MXSTEN® plastomers meet FDA regulation 21 CFR 177.1520 and are becoming a preferred resin for the flexible food packaging convertors. In addition to MXSTEN® CV plastomers, Westlake’s quality food packaging film resins include Westlake Hifor polyethylenes, Westlake Hifor Clear polyethylenes, and Westlake Hifor® Xtreme polyethylenes. This breadth of product line ensures that you only pay for the properties you need.
